When Richard Johnson moved to the 47th floor of a downtown condo in Toronto, he found a whole new way of documenting urban life.

The photographer’s newest work explores the reflections of neighbouring glass towers; the place where plain glass turns into giant canvases that capture endless displays of reflective shapes and forms. The abstract images, shot in Toronto, Montreal and Paris, reveal the universal mad rush of everyday life. My essay, written for the exhibition, will also being published in Canadian Architect this fall.

When Richard Johnson moved to the 47th floor of a downtown condo in Toronto, he found a whole new way of documenting urban life.

The photographer’s newest work explores the reflections of neighbouring glass towers; the place where plain glass turns into giant canvases that capture endless displays of indistinguishable shapes and forms. The abstract images, shot in Toronto, Montreal and Paris, reveal the universal mad rush of everyday life. My essay, written for the exhibition, will also being published in Canadian Architect this fall.
